The story behind the Price Has Been Paid

This is the story of a prisoner set free from his cell by God on the night before of his execution. The inspiration comes from three places

 1) As I was growing up I suffered abuse and so my spirit was imprisoned inside of me but over the years Gods love and faithfulness has released me from my spiritual prison and given me new life. God has freed me from guilt fear ad shame  and all the negative words spoken over me. I now know with confidence that I am a precious child of God and God loved me so much that he went to the cross and died to forgive me and give me a new start in life

He has promised never to leave me or forsake me  and when I went through the waters and will continue to at times in my life, they will not overwhelm me and like a shepherd He will put me on His shoulders and carry men

2) Acts 12:5-12 (NKJV)

5  Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
6  And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.
7  Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.
8  Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”
9  So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
10  When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
11  And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”
12  So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.

3) My utmost favourite hymn is AND CAN IT BE ,

4 Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free;
I rose, went forth and followed Thee. [Refrain]

5 No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach  the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own. [Refrain]

Putting all these three together in one place has made a deep impact on my and one day i sat down and saw a scene playing out in front of me and the words just flowed. This is a powerful song of freedom and i pray that anyone who reads it that has suffered abuse in the past  my draw hope and healing from it  Amen  if you have sufffered abuse  and feel there is no hope there is hope in Jesus  he will set you free and set you free if you will give him the chance
